My love is like the open sky,
I see around from some high place,
The wind that whispers through my hair,
Recalls your touch upon my face.

My love is like the light and shade,
That sun and cloud gift to the dale,
The many-coloured moor mirrors,
Love’s dappled hills and vales.

Your love for me is like a word,
Which I, through half distracted thought,
Hear whispered through the wild tumult,
The still small voice whose calm I sought…
