The Results

1. Which Narrator Did You Prefer?

Based on your feedback, there was a decisive majority in favour of Brian Meslar as the reader, by around 60 – 65%.

You also gave me a lot of feedback on the ways in which you though each narrator succeeded or failed. The feedback you gave me has been invaluable and made both my decision and my way forward much easier…

2. How Good Did you Think Their Performance Were?

I also asked you, on a scale of 1 to 10, what you thought of the quality of each narration/narrator. Here are the results:

Once more, there was a decisive vote in favour of Brian’s reading.

Not only was Brian’s rating higher, it was consistently higher; much more weighted to the top end of the scale.

Simply on the basis of these, I have already decided that I would like to have Brian as narrator. He describes himself as a ‘verbal chameleon’… lol! I’ve listened to a lot of his samples (much than just what I gave you in the last post) and he is indeed a master of narration.

Having said that, quite a few of you gave comments as to how you though the narration might be improved and I’ve passed that along the line. I’ll next be receiving a longer sample from him which will incorporate Charlotte and James interacting – obviously a key part of the story. Any performance of the story has to produce a convincing rendition of Charlotte and her beloved Master talking together. Indeed, one of the most common replies from you was to the effect that you loved Brian’s portrayal of Michael, but you felt he needs to work on James a little more to get the true, ‘Deep Sexy Dom’ effect.

If I am able to, I’ll let you hear the second sample too.

I received a lot of replies from you and clearly, I cannot provide all of them here, but here’s a couple of examples, a taster, of what I received back:

“Love Brian’s sexy Brit accent. Portrayal of both characters is spot on. “

“Reading as James I was surprised to again not have an accent, but when he read Michael I loved it! It was easy to tell the difference between the 2 men. Since James has travelled more and is from Spain (I think) I’m ok with him not having a distinct accent. I got tingles when I heard Brian Meslar talk. My first thought was “this is Michael in my head”. In general, he sounds like he had more life and feeling into the reading.”

“I liked his Michael best…the British accent was spot on! His James was good but could be a bit lower. Overall I preferred him.”

“Brian was awesome. His words just flowed together. I felt like he was really in a conversation in his head and with the character. He was not just reading words on a page. He “was” the characters. His voice alone made me want to “play” with him.”

“OMG, I could listen to this hottie any day. love how he changes his tones for Michael, James and Chloe. he’s got that factor where I could orgasm just listening to him.”
